I. The meeting was called to order by President George Rios at 6:10 p.m. II. Consent of Agenda: M/S/P III. Review of Minutes: November 24, 2003 M/S/P IV. Correspondence: none V.

Items: A.
Old Business:
1.
Stone Engraving Project - Billie - Indicated she has not made contact with Mr. Choy as of yet, /Mary Knapp deferred to Maureen Saltzer, Maureen indicated that on December 11, 2003 the Appeal Democrat will be featuring the donation of $5,000.00 dollars to the Bok Kai Temple from the Marysville Rotary Club. She also indicated that there wil be a Golf Tournament in support of the Restoration of the Marysville Bok Kai Temple in April of 2004
2.
Bylaws Committee / Billie Single ( Ad-Hoc Committee Chair) Passed out the latest or the latest revision for all members present to review. Billie indicated that she followed up on the last corrections and items voted upon by all members present at the last meeting. Items were discussed and voted upon by the Board members present. Billie will present the final accepted Board revision at our next regularly scheduled meeting.
3.
Sister Cities Wine Tasting - Kay- Kay indicated that she need assistance in the following areas:
a.
Some one to contact the Appeal Democrat with all the information about the Wine Tasting. Maureen Saltzer volunteered to assist in this area. She requested all information as soon as possible.
b.
Passing out of Posters and selling of tickets. Kay indicated the specific stores both in Marysville and Yuba City that she will personally see the store owners about the posters. Kay indicated that the Tickets are available now for sale. The Posters could be put up after Christmas.
c.
Donations from individuals and companies; Lucky's donated ice. Kay needed some one to pick it and take it to the Hop Sing. George Chan volunteered to assist in this area.
d.
Kay needs some one to contact Pepsi and request the donation of water. Mary Knapp volunteered to assist in this area.
e.
Kay requested assistance in the area of an ad in paper on had written notes for donations. Write up information to local groups. Sue and Billie volunteered to assist in this area.
f.
Kay indicated that some one is going to talk to KUBA for appointment to talk on the radio show.
g.
Kay also indicated that if everyone here would just ask some for an donation we could really raise a lot of funds this year.
4.
Change of officers I the Marysville Chinese Community, Inc. - David - Selection of a new President was made but the individual can be President because he does not live in the local area per the By-Laws. New elections were called for at the last meeting and the opposing members walked out. They suggested that the issue be settled by the Chinese 6 in San Francisco. Mr. George Chan indicated he had a very hard time being recognized to allow Mr. David Chan to speak. Mr. Bing Ong indicated that the action taken at the meeting were totally illegal. Mr. David Chan indicated that all up in the air at this time and that we will know by the 21st of December 2003
5.
Permission to erect a Sign - Paul McNamara - Plans are in progress. More to follow in January 2004.
6.
Alarm System for the Bok Kai Temple - George - George presented the suggested cost to all. Mr. David Chan indicated that he greatly appreciated the time and effort spent on the research but at this time they can not make any decisions due to the current situation of elections.
7.
Membership - Rich- Rich indicated that all is well except that he would like to meet his goal of 100 new members. George indicated that Rich was doing an excellent job of acquiring new members. We would be as far along without his efforts and dedication.
B. New
Business: 1.
Jean suggested that the group sanction the idea of having a 50's dance after the Bok Kai Parade.
The idea was discussed by all present and Ad - Hoc Committee of Gordon Tom and Jean Chan was formed to research the idea and return with information at our next meeting. M/S/P 2.
Paul asked were our Pledges Cards were at. To be reviewed at our next meeting.
3.
Gary Arlington addressed the Souvenir Booth at the Bok Kai Parade. He did indicate that he would be glad to Chair it as long as he could coordinate all arrangements with Joan.
VII. Comments from the floor:
Janice Nall commented on the minutes of the last meeting. Comments were not totally clear in content or meaning. A possible submittal of comments in writing from her would be in order if she wanted them entered as part of the minutes. IX. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m
X.
The next meeting is scheduled for December 22, 2003, 6:00 p.m. at Marysville City Hall.
Please note that this meeting is mainly to address the upcoming Wine Tasting event. Any other business must be indicated during the Consent to Agenda time.
